DIY: Sweatshirt Jacket

What a perfect/easy way to turn a frumpy crew-neck sweater into an adorable spring throw! I love how it's simple and grey (which goes with anything).

I am absolutely in love with Heart Charlie! Her blog mostly shows photos of her day-to-day outfits and commentary on current fashion. She's also a film costume director. How fun! =)

Have a Beautiful Weekend!

I'm exhausted from work this week, so I'll be taking it easy with dinner/drinks tonight and possibly relaxing under the sun between now and Monday. What are your plans this weekend?

From around the web:
  • I need to create a work space like this
  • What an easy/fun way to make a bracelet!
  • This would be perfect for a Moroccan themed party
  • Yum!!! Can it be spring yet?!
  • I love it when couples (like these guys) share a job/career that they adore.
  • Cant get enough of this tumblr (Thanks Amandizzle!)
  • The best example of wearing stripes

DIY: Lavender Body Scrub

This is probably one of the most simple ways to smell great and feel soft, without breaking the bank. And with temperatures still on the low side this remedy will keep your skin smooth and moisturized.

What you’ll need:

  • 1.5 C. Sea Salt or Sugar  from your cupboard (I prefer sugar since it dissolves quicker and is easier on the skin)
  • ¾ C. Lavender body oil
  • 1 Mason Jar (any enclosed container will do though)

Let’s do it!:
1) Clean out the mason jar
2) Pour a little bit of the oil and then some of the salt/ sugar (continue until you run out)
3) Close the lid and shake
4) Take a hot shower/bath (Scrub to create soft and luscious skin)

DIY: Lavender Cappuccino

While at work one morning I was inspired to take spin off the ordinary cappuccino. I decided to experiment with adding lavender leaves to the milk before steaming it, and to be honest, I was quite surprised.

It's the perfect way to lighten the harsh espresso taste and leave you feeling fresh and chipper in the morning or throughout the day.

What you’ll need:
  • A pinch of lavender leaves (you can get these in the spice section of your local market)
  • ¾ C. milk of your choosing
  • Steaming cup
  • 1 shot of espresso
  • Espresso machine and steamer

Lets do it!:
1) Pour the milk into the steaming pitcher and add a pinch of lavender
2) Steam the milk for 6-8 seconds and allow the lavender to steep
3) Let the milk sit for a minute
4) Pull the espresso shot (don’t let it settle for more than 20 seconds)
5) Steam the warm milk until the foam is just right
6) Pour the milk into the cup with espresso
7) Enjoy!
